SEPTEMBER 1, 2023 — BOCA RATON, Fla. — Broadband construction and engineering services company ByVerTek today announced that Joyce Johnson has joined its Board of Managers. An active investor in the global debt and equity marketplaces for more than 35 years managing over $10 billion in global investments, Ms. Johnson also currently serves as Chairwoman of Pacific Gate Capital Management, LLC (PGC). Previously, she founded JJM, LLC, a $300.0 million private equity fund that successfully invested in women and minority owned companies.
“Providing equal access to communications technology is fundamental to economic empowerment,” said Ms. Johnson. “I’m excited to play a part in helping communications service providers, like ByVerTek, in that mission.”
Founded in 2014, ByVerTek provides project management and skilled technicians to build, upgrade and maintain the physical infrastructure that delivers high-speed internet, video, voice and wireless, and IoT services across the United States. In June 2023 the company obtained an investment from Diversity Capital Company, LLC through its affiliate, Diversity Capital Fund I L.P. This investment will help ByVerTek better meet the federal government’s commitment to expanding the digital highway, and also qualify it as one of the largest, MBE-certified diverse suppliers in the sector.
“We consider ourselves very fortunate to have a pioneer in minority investing help us in our mission,” said ByVerTek Executive Chairman Lawrence C. Manson. “But Joyce brings not only credentials in diversity, she is a financial powerhouse who will guide us in our growth.”
